Survival of the Fattest

Tulip’s metabolism is so high that she needs to eat more than Moo. But she’s also slower to finish her food than Moo.

Today I decided to feed Tulip a large helping, but in order for her to finish around the same time as Moo, I had to start feeding Tulip first. Moo just about snapped a gasket. She paced in circles and kept telling all about how unfair it was that Tulip was eating and she wasn’t.

Finally, as Tu neared the last third of her breakfast, I gave Moo her bowl. I left the room thinking that all would be fine. I was in the other room for about a minute before I realized how deathly quiet it was in the kitchen. So I got up to check in on them. In approaching the kitchen, I saw Tulip walking out and Moo near Tulip’s bowl. Both bowls were spotless.

In true Moo fashion, she finished her food in record time while being able to bully Tulip away from her bowl. I just hope that Tu finished her food. Poor Tu. This is the only area in which Tu is subordinate to Moo.

Me and Tu Kickin’ It On the Deck

Here’s a song for Tulip (to be sung to the tune of “On Moonlight Bay”).

Me and my Tu. We kickin’ it on the deck.
Me and my Tu. It’s warm outside so I said, “What the heck”.
Me and my Tu. Now she giving me the “No Pet”.
Me and my Tu….

I like to sing to her and make up crazy words and tunes. It’s one of our special things we do together.

Beware the billy goat!

This is another follow up to the “Kitty is sensitive” post. I can’t believe I forgot to post this. This was the funniest part of the story…

So after Eve hit Tulip Kitty in the stomach with the hair scrunchie, kitty was freaked out. In fact, she still is a little bit. Eve was sitting in the office and kitty was skulking outside the door, watching out for whatever it was that hit her. Eve told her, “Don’t worry Tu. The ‘belly ghost’ isn’t going to get you.” However, she said it in a crazy voice. So instead of ‘belly ghost’ I heard ‘billy goat’. Hence, the legend of the billy goat was born. Watch out for the billy gooooooooat! Mwaaaahahahaha…

Tulip is still pretty freaked out about coming into the office. She will come in here, but she crouches down low and creeps around, still watching out for the billy goat. Here she was just a few minutes ago:

Kitty is sensitive – Follow up

This is a follow up to the “Kitty is sensitive” post from yesterday. I didn’t witness the whole scary scene go down. As it turns out, I was mistaken. Tulip Kitty was not startled by a loud noise. Here’s what really happened:

Eve had one of those cloth hair scrunchies which she shot towards Tulip like a giant rubber band. The scrunchie bounced off the floor and hit kitty on the underside of her stomach, scaring the living daylights out of her. The loud noise I heard was Tulip bouncing off the door, wall, etc., trying to run away from whatever it was that “attacked” her. She never did figure out what happened. Now that’s punkish.

Apparently I’m living with two punks. The truth comes out!

Tiger perks

This morning while I was getting ready for work, Tulip curled up on our bed. She looked like she was getting ready for a nap. When I saw her there I blurted out,

“Kitty! Why do you get to take a nap whenever you want? It must be nice!”

And I heard from the other room, “Honey. It’s tiger perks.”

So I replied, “Oh yeah? How do I sign up for those?”

Eve’s reply? “Sorry. You have to be a tiger.”

Story of my life…

Bow chicka bow bow!

I was typing away on my laptop while on the bed in the second room. Tulip decided to join me on the bed. She was laying on Wyatt. Once in a while she would bite and kick him with her hind legs. Harmless fun, I thought. But then…while engrossed in my work on the computer, I see some very unusual action going on from the corner of my eye.

I turn to look and I was perplexed, trying to make out what she was doing. Essentially, she had Wyatt’s ear in her mouth. She was hunch over him like a ball, and she would make regular motions of scooting forward then sitting on him. While sitting on him, Tulip would be moving her ass vigorously. Need I describe more? That was enough already.

I felt so dirty!
